Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead and support preparation of environmental permit applications and approvals with NJDEP, USACE, and USFWS.
  • •Develop permitting strategies, coordinate and track permit approvals and regulatory commitments to support project schedules.
  • •Conduct and oversee wetland delineations, stream/open water assessments, flood hazard evaluations, threatened/endangered species habitat assessments, and ecological reconnaissance surveys.
  • •Interpret environmental data and prepare technical reports, permit exhibits, environmental constraints mapping, and supporting documentation.
  • •Support planning through construction by reviewing engineering plans, coordinating field investigations, managing subcontractors/specialty consultants, and mentoring junior staff.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Ecology, Biology, Natural Resources, Geography, or related field.
  • •5-7 years of environmental consulting, permitting, or regulatory experience.
  • •Demonstrated experience supporting environmental permitting for linear infrastructure projects.
  • •Working knowledge of NJDEP Freshwater Wetlands Protection Act, Flood Hazard Area Control Act, Coastal Zone Management rules, and Clean Water Act Sections 401 and 404 and Endangered Species Act.
  • •Experience preparing technical reports and permit applications, including GIS mapping and environmental constraints analysis.
