Job Summary

Build and evolve public-facing APIs and services for Wise Platform’s KYC Experience team, enabling partner onboarding and identity verification. Work in an autonomous cross-functional environment with engineers, product, analytics, compliance, and operations to shape the roadmap and address technical debt, reliability, scalability, and security. Design robust, scalable, event-driven microservices, mentor teammates via code reviews, and translate complex technical concepts for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Salary: GBP 87,500 - 111,000 annually

•Strong foundation in modern Java (or other JVM-based language) with Spring and a commitment to clean, testable, high-performance code.
•Deep experience building and operating microservices with event-driven architecture and distributed systems/concurrency patterns.
•Hands-on experience with Kafka (or similar messaging systems) and designing robust, scalable event pipelines.
•Proficiency with relational and non-relational databases, including query optimization, schema design, and data lifecycle management.
•Product-oriented mindset focused on user experience and data-driven decisions to resolve partner problems.
