Job Summary

Conceptualize and execute beauty and wellness service stories for Allure across digital platforms. You’ll keep up with beauty trends and product launches, monitor social media and pop culture for daily story pitches, and publish both daily news and reported trend pieces. Work closely with the Content Director and Senior Editor to build a monthly content lineup, develop expert relationships, support the Melanin Edit franchise, and collaborate with audience development to optimize distribution and performance.

Key Responsibilities

•Write and build a mix of news, service, opinion, and trend articles per month, including net-new and refreshed content.
•Pitch news stories daily using pop culture moments and trends through a beauty and wellness lens.
•Develop and maintain relationships with beauty, health, and wellness experts and pitch stories based on that reporting.
•Collaborate with the Content Director and Senior Editor to build a monthly content lineup with performance and audience engagement in mind.
•Contribute to the Melanin Edit and promote content through newsletter, social, and Google Discover; represent Allure at events and appear on camera as needed.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 66,500 - 72,500

Key Requirements

•2-3 years of experience covering beauty.
•Proven ability to research, report, and write in a fast-paced environment with strong editorial judgment.
•Experience using SEO tools such as Keyword Finder, Clearscope, and Google Analytics to optimize content.
•Knowledge of hair care products and the ability to evaluate product performance (e.g., moisture retention, curl definition, hold, shine, frizz control, scalp comfort).
•Ability to pitch original ideas and write with an exceptional voice, along with strong organizational and collaboration skills.
