Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead negotiation of utility infrastructure agreements and amendments for new and existing data center campuses, including construction, operating, transfer agreements, and amendments.
  • •Own the obligation management responsibility matrix for each project, track contractual cites/deadlines/status, run monthly deadline reviews, and escalate at-risk items early.
  • •Serve as EDG’s authority on utility requirements, translating tariff provisions, connection requirements, metering/interconnection specifications, and NERC/RTO reliability obligations into actionable engineering and operations requirements.
  • •Manage contractual aspects of customer-build programs, including design package submittals, procurement compliance against utility approved lists, commissioning/title transfer sequencing, and closeout obligations.
  • •Provide executive reporting on obligation status, upcoming deadlines, counterparty performance, and contract risks across the portfolio while coordinating with Real Estate, Power Engineering, Legal, and Finance.

Key Requirements

  • •8+ years in the electric utility sector, or negotiating/managing utility agreements for large customers or developers, including large-load interconnection and utility construction agreements.
  • •Strong fluency in utility tariffs, end-user connection requirements, interconnection processes, metering standards, and reliability obligations (NERC standards and RTO/ISO rules).
  • •Hands-on exposure to engineering, procurement, and construction lifecycle (design reviews, procurement standards, commissioning, and closeout) to manage customer-build and transfer obligations.
  • •Proven track record negotiating complex utility infrastructure agreements with utility counterparties, balancing commercial outcomes and schedule protection.
  • •Exceptional contract management rigor with strong cross-functional communication to translate contract language into actionable requirements.
