Job Summary

Operate a variety of heavy equipment for groundwork and construction, working safely and efficiently on job sites. Follow company policies and OSHA/MSHA procedures, complete daily pre- and post-inspections, and document work as required. Perform minor servicing and maintenance, report issues to supervisors, and assist in training less-experienced employees. Maintain reliable attendance and be prepared to travel and work nights/weekends as needed.

Key Responsibilities

•Operate heavy equipment of various sizes and weights safely and efficiently for groundwork and construction purposes.
•Follow company policies and OSHA/MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and the environment.
•Complete daily pre- and post-inspections with required documentation, and perform minor servicing/maintenance.
•Report problems to the Foreman, Superintendent, Safety Manager, or Human Resources Manager and follow direction for daily tasks.
•Assist in training less-experienced employees on proper equipment operations, servicing, and repair.

Key Requirements

•1-2 years of experience operating heavy equipment.
•Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools used in construction.
•Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently and understand hazards and safety precautions on construction sites.
•Able to read, write, and perform basic math; able to read blueprints or other project documents.
•Maintain a current driver’s license meeting state requirements (CDL; Class A and/or B) with possible hazmat and tanker endorsements.
