Job Summary

Support ByteDance’s Datacenter Infrastructure Engineering team by serving as a subject matter expert for data center design limitations and risks. Audit and coordinate with colocation partners on maintenance effectiveness, review data hall fit-outs against specifications, and lead change management for high-risk maintenance. Apply deep knowledge of power and cooling redundancy, commissioning testing, and electrical/mechanical systems to help ensure reliable, scalable hyperscale datacenters.

Key Responsibilities

•Support the DC Operations team as a subject matter expert to understand and manage design limitations and risks.
•Audit and collaborate with colocation partners on their maintenance program and effectiveness.
•Review data hall fit-outs to confirm design specifications are being followed.
•Manage and drive change management for high-risk maintenance activities in data centers.
•Maintain positive, collaborative relationships with partner teams, vendors, teammates, and internal customers.

Key Requirements

•Diploma or professional certification in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a relevant discipline, with 5+ years of relevant working experience.
•Knowledge of power and cooling calculations for capacity requirements (e.g., TIA-942, ASHRAE).
•Experience implementing power redundancy in design (e.g., 2N, N+1 distributed redundant).
•Understand cooling redundancy and concurrent maintainability in design (e.g., N+1, N+2).
•Experience with electrical/mechanical systems such as generators, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, UPS, and electrical sub-distribution systems.
