Key Responsibilities

  • •Advise the client on cost strategies and manage bid processes, including vendor prequalification, proposal review, bid leveling recommendations, and bid interviews.
  • •Develop and present project estimates, review junior team estimating work, and provide value engineering recommendations and risk assessments to the client.
  • •Establish reporting schedules and manage cost reporting, including reviewing cost reports and forecasts, budget/spend forecasts, and maintaining a commercial risk register.
  • •Lead cost control by reviewing payment applications, recommending contractor entitlements, managing change orders, and supporting dispute prevention/management/resolution.
  • •Oversee invoicing and post-contract closeouts, including final accounting processes, post-contract audits, and post-contract reviews to produce lessons learned and handover procedures.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering, or a field related to construction.
  • •Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in cost management within the construction industry.
  • •RICS accredited or working towards it is valuable.
  • •Experience supporting cost management on medium or large construction projects.
  • •Strong communication skills and good knowledge of construction procurement routes, value management, and value engineering.
