Balance correctness, speed, cost, and UX while treating licensing, compliance (CDD/KYC, sanctions/PEP), and data residency as first-class product inputs. Location: Sydney
Workplace: Remote
Employment Type: Full time
Job Function: Product Management

Key Responsibilities

  • •Own a product vertical end to end, defining outcomes and metrics, prioritizing the backlog by value/risk/dependency/strategic priority, and creating crisp acceptance criteria.
  • •Shape the technical design with engineering, covering system boundaries, money-movement correctness (idempotency, ledgering, reconciliation), third-party rail reliability/rail-down behavior, and failure/retry/refund paths.
  • •Make and defend hard trade-offs across correctness, speed, cost, reliability, and UX with engineering, compliance, or operations partners.
  • •Treat regulated constraints as first-class product inputs, including licensing scope, CDD/KYC and limits, sanctions/PEP screening, transaction monitoring, and data residency/privacy.
  • •Apply AI where it earns its place by defining allowed decision-making, human oversight, evaluation approach, and behavior when uncertain, ensuring AI outputs trace back to real records.

Key Requirements

  • •Significant experience owning a complex technical product end-to-end, with strong judgement and decisiveness under ambiguity, balancing ambition with technical, regulatory, and operational reality.
  • •Solid system design foundation (boundaries, datastores, queues/workflows, APIs, failure modes, concurrency consistency) and the ability to read, review, and challenge design docs.
  • •Experience in a regulated or high-consequence domain (e.g., payments, banking, remittance, insurance) or ability to ramp quickly, understanding money-movement correctness and irreversible states.
  • •Hands-on AI judgement with LLM-based products, including defining what AI can decide, evaluation approach, and constraints around hallucination/drift/data gaps and human-in-the-loop requirements.
  • •Nice to have: an engineer or highly-technical PM background, zero-to-one experience, and shipped AI-heavy consumer products, including defined ML/LLM evaluation metrics.
