Key Responsibilities

  • •Ensure equipment is operated safely, efficiently, and in an environmentally responsible manner to meet utility and energy requirements.
  • •Perform shift operations and maintenance, including startup/shutdown of utility systems and ancillary equipment in single-person operations.
  • •Conduct inspections and testing (including reading gauges/meters, recording operating data, and responding to operational upset conditions).
  • •Perform corrective maintenance and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems, including electrical/mechanical inspections and routine preventive/predictive maintenance.
  • •Maintain accurate operational documentation (shift logs, records, time sheets, work orders) and update CMMS; communicate shift activities and pertinent information to personnel, customers, and vendors.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 45.52 hourly

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or equivalent.
  • •At least 5 years of power plant operations and maintenance experience with a City of Dearborn or City of Detroit First Class Stationary Engineer license and Universal Refrigerant license.
  • •Knowledge of utility plant mechanical and electrical equipment (e.g., gas turbines, HRSGs, motors, pumps, chillers, heat exchangers, chemical handling, water treatment, AC/DC distribution, and control systems).
  • •Experience with at least four of the listed systems (e.g., combustion turbines/engines, HRSG, chilled/hot water systems, compressed air, reverse osmosis, water softeners, emissions control).
  • •Knowledge of plant safety policies and procedures (including chemical handling, confined spaces, fire suppression, and first aid) and ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
