Job Summary

Serve as a technical point of contact for mechanical parts supporting the Falcon and Dragon programs, resolving supplier manufacturing and quality issues to drive root-cause fixes and risk reduction. Lead design-for-manufacturing reviews, own new product introduction and ramp-to-rate for new or changed parts, and drive PPAP/containment activities to stabilize supply. Partner with procurement and engineering to vet suppliers, implement drawing updates, and improve manufacturability, lead times, and cost.

Key Responsibilities

•Serve as the technical point of contact for assigned mechanical parts, solving supplier emergent manufacturing and quality challenges and mitigating risk.
•Investigate issues to root cause, implement corrective changes at suppliers and/or SpaceX, and drive actions to closure including re-sourcing when needed.
•Drive technical product improvements and engineering drawing updates to reduce defect opportunities and improve manufacturability, lead times, and cost.
•Own new product introduction and ramp-to-rate for parts and assemblies, including selecting manufacturing methods, identifying/reviewing suppliers, and managing transitions.
•Drive PPAP program and lead containment activities, collaborating cross-functionally to agree scope and path to resolution.

Travel: High travel
