Key Responsibilities

  • •Own the mechanical design and release of electronic packaging, housings, enclosures, and vehicle integration solutions for program timing and launch.
  • •Design components and assemblies including castings, injection-molded parts, stampings, seals, brackets, PCBA mounts, connector interfaces, and vehicle mounting interfaces.
  • •Create and maintain production-quality 3D CAD and drawings; lead CAD design reviews with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • •Define mechanical requirements and interfaces for electrical, compute, communications, and other electromechanical subsystems; perform calculations, GD&T development, and tolerance stack-ups.
  • •Develop and execute analysis and test plans, including proof-of-concept builds, bench testing, and validation; partner on DFx and supplier engagement through launch and fleet deployment.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • •6+ years of experience designing electromechanical products, electronics packaging, vehicle systems, robotics, automotive systems, or other ruggedized hardware from concept through production.
  • •Experience packaging compute, electrical, communications, sensor, or power-electronics hardware into mechanically robust assemblies and enclosures.
  • •Strong mechanical design experience with die castings, injection moldings, stampings, extrusions, machined parts, seals, gaskets, brackets, and welded assemblies.
  • •Deep understanding of DFx covering manufacturability, assembly, serviceability, reliability, cost, and supplier capability.
