Key Responsibilities

  • •Prepare for Control Engineer accountabilities by operating the network safely and efficiently using Operational Procedures and Safety Rules.
  • •Manage the operational interface between Network Operations, Incident Controllers, and the Distribution Control Centre to meet customer service targets.
  • •Develop capability in managing operational relationships with NESO to optimize security of supply.
  • •Cover implementation and management of National Power Outage Emergency Procedures and liaise with adjacent Transmission System Operators where relevant.
  • •Coordinate outage planning, maintain accurate operational IT systems, and complete statutory reports for network incidents.

Key Requirements

  • •Experience working in a technical environment, with an electrical background preferred (high voltage experience valuable).
  • •HNC in an engineering discipline or equivalent qualification.
  • •Proactive approach to owning your training and development journey.
  • •Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and make well-considered judgments.
  • •Comfort working on a 24/7 shift rota and as part of the Operational Control Centre team.
