Job Summary

Repair and maintain a wide range of construction and mechanical equipment, including trucks, trailers, dozers, excavators, motor graders, engines, pneumatic tools, and conveyor systems. Troubleshoot issues, dismantle devices to remove defective parts, perform service and preventative maintenance, and repair electrical and hydraulic systems as well as diesel and gasoline engines. Order parts and maintain purchasing records while keeping the work area clean and safe.

Key Responsibilities

•Troubleshoot equipment problems and make economical, durable repairs.
•Dismantle devices to access and remove defective parts using hoists and hand tools.
•Maintain and repair heavy equipment, trucks, shop, and non-mobile equipment.
•Service vehicles/equipment (oil changes, greasing, adding fluids, changing filters) and perform preventative maintenance.
•Troubleshoot and repair electrical/hydraulic systems and diesel/gasoline engines, transmissions, and drive trains.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or GED.
•Preferably 5 years of prior experience as an automotive mechanic with mechanical maintenance on a variety of equipment.
•Experience with heavy construction equipment (e.g., Komatsu and CAT dozers, excavators, motor graders, water trucks).
•Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
•Must have a current and valid driver’s license.
