Job Summary

Principal System Administrator responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining secure Windows and Linux enterprise environments (RHEL 7/8/9, Windows Server, Windows 11) in a DoD context. You will manage VMware virtualization, patching and compliance (STIG/SCAP), automation (PowerShell), and cross-functional collaboration to uphold classified program requirements, with on-site, 24x7 operations in Huntsville, AL and DoD Secret clearance prerequisites.

Key Responsibilities

•Design, deploy, and maintain virtual infrastructure using VMware ESXi and vCenter, including VM lifecycle management, host upgrades, performance tuning, and support of critical production workloads
•Engineer and sustain imaging, deployment, and automation solutions (MECM/SCCM, PXE, Windows imaging, in-place OS upgrades, scripted deployments using PowerShell)
•Administer and support core Windows services and integrations (Active Directory, Group Policy, certificate-based authentication)
•Collaborate across Digital Technology, Engineering, Cyber Security, DevSecOps, Networking, Storage, and Tools teams to resolve complex infrastructure challenges
•Support on-site DoD closed-area operations, with after-hours support and up to 10% travel as required

Salary: USD 86,800 - 165,200 annually

Key Requirements

•Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years' experience
•Experience administering and securing Windows and RHEL servers
•Experience with VMware virtualization
•Experience with securing system configurations, system hardening
•Experience with PowerShell scripting; An active and in-scope DoD Secret security clearance is required; U.S. citizenship is required
