Key Responsibilities

•Lead the design and implementation of AI research and production infrastructure at scale, managing technical debt and directing strategies for distributed systems.
•Mentor junior engineers and help raise engineering standards across the AI Products team.
•Collaborate across Xero to enhance data usability and solve complex technical challenges with the right methods.
•Work with ML Engineers and Applied Scientists to build interfaces and transition models from research to production.
•Refactor complex systems and design scalable, distributed production infrastructure to support next-generation AI features.

•Strong system design and coding proficiency in Python or alternative languages suited for web-scale AI applications.
•Deep understanding of distributed processing principles alongside strong SQL capabilities.

•Eagerness to learn, master, and implement Large Language Model technologies into product features; experience with MLFlow, TensorFlow, or PyTorch is highly valued.
