Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop secure, well-tested, performant features and improvements for GitLab Duo Chat.
  • •Implement and extend agentic flows in Python using LangGraph, registered through the Flow Registry and served by the Duo Workflow Service.
  • •Integrate chat capabilities with the GitLab Rails monolith, including its GraphQL API.
  • •Write maintainable, high-scale code with tests for every merge request and review contributions via code review guidelines.
  • •Identify technical debt, improve team efficiency, and collaborate with Product and UX/Frontend; participate in Tier 2/Tier 3 on-call rotations.

Key Requirements

  • •Professional experience building and testing production services in Python.
  • •Working proficiency with Ruby on Rails (or willingness to learn it).
  • •Exposure to or strong interest in building with large language models, including prompting, tool/function calling, evaluation, and failure modes.
  • •Experience designing and building APIs with performance optimization and familiarity with third-party services.
  • •Experience with LangGraph or LangChain (or comparable agent orchestration frameworks), plus GraphQL and RSpec.
