Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead the design, review and delivery of active travel, streetscape and cycling schemes.
  • •Ensure all work meets relevant design standards (including NI Active Travel Design Guide, Cycling by Design, Cycle Design Manual, DMRB, TII Standards, SRW and MCHW).
  • •Apply best practice and innovation to improve accessibility, safety and sustainable transport outcomes.
  • •Provide technical assurance and support across schemes in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
  • •Mentor and supervise graduate engineers, supporting their development and ensuring high-quality outputs.

Key Requirements

  • •Chartered Engineer (CEng) with ICE, EI, CIHT, or equivalent, or able to demonstrate substantial progress toward achieving chartered status
  • •Post-graduate experience specifically in the design, supervision and management of active travel, streetscape or highway schemes
  • •Strong technical knowledge of active travel design standards and statutory processes
  • •Experience working with clients, local authorities and multidisciplinary teams
  • •Demonstrated ability to lead design, review and delivery of active travel and streetscape projects
