Provide expert UK employment law advice for Capital One’s UK legal team, supporting International and US HR and employment matters. Advise on compliance across hiring, contracts, terminations, benefits, workplace policies, and employee relations, including guidance for mergers and acquisitions. Act as an internal employment law knowledge hub through training, manage employment disputes such as tribunal claims, and partner with HR, risk, and compliance stakeholders on HR-related risk and data protection topics including GDPR.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide legal advice on Capital One’s compliance with employment law, including preparation for and outcomes related to mergers and acquisitions.
•Advise on and draft hiring practices, employment contracts, terminations, benefits, workplace policies, and employee relations.
•Deliver employment law training and act as a beacon for UK employment law knowledge and expertise across supported HR functions.
•Support the management of employee disputes, including employment tribunal claims.
•Partner with International HR, HR risk and compliance stakeholders, and external counsel to identify and report on HR-related risks and advise on data protection issues including Data Subject Access requests.
