Job Summary

Lead technical safety and loss prevention engineering across FEED, detail design, construction, commissioning, and plant start-up for onshore and offshore oil & gas projects. Perform safety screening, assess safety systems for gaps, and execute hazard studies including HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, and hazardous area classification. Conduct fire engineering analyses, PHE modeling, and QRA review, coordinate with disciplines, and provide client-facing technical leadership while mentoring junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities

•Apply technical safety and loss prevention engineering methodologies across FEED, detail design, construction, commissioning, and plant start-up.
•Perform safety screening of project scopes and analyze existing safety systems to identify adequacy and gaps.
•Conduct hazardous area classification and safety layout / emergency escape route assessments; support fire engineering activities (fire zone, firewater demand, hydraulics).
•Participate in and prepare reports for project HAZOP, HAZID, SIL studies, and other safety workshops; perform PHE modelling and review QRA.
•Coordinate with other disciplines across design and delivery stages, provide site technical support as needed, produce and review safety-related deliverables, and mentor junior engineers.

Key Requirements

•Degree qualification in Chemical Engineering, preferably with membership in a relevant professional body or institution.
•Minimum 15 years’ experience in Oil & Gas post-graduation.
•Experience across project phases (greenfield/brownfield, onshore/offshore) from concept through to EPC, focusing on upstream.
•Self-motivated, proactive with high achievement drive, initiative, and strong verbal and written communication plus organisational awareness.
•Experience leading/chairing HAZID/HAZOP reviews (for small projects advantageous).
