Key Responsibilities

  • •Design and oversee the implementation of electrical systems for new builds and retrofit projects, including MV/LV power distribution, UPS systems, backup generators, switchgear, PDUs, and busways.
  • •Develop and review detailed electrical engineering drawings, one-line diagrams, load calculations, and technical specifications.
  • •Perform site assessments and capacity planning for power distribution and redundancy.
  • •Ensure electrical systems meet Tier requirements (e.g., Uptime Institute), NEC, IEEE, NFPA, and local code standards.
  • •Support and coordinate commissioning activities, including Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and Integrated Systems Testing (IST).
  • •Collaborate closely with mechanical, architectural, and controls teams for integrated system design.
  • •Analyse electrical system performance and recommend improvements for energy efficiency and operational reliability.
  • •Manage electrical design consultants and contractors to ensure compliance with design intent and project timelines.
  • •Lead or contribute to root cause analysis and remediation of electrical incidents or outages.
  • •Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership within the engineering team.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
  • •PE (Professional Engineer) license is strongly preferred.
  • •7 years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering with at least 3 years in data center or mission-critical environments.
  • •Deep understanding of power distribution, grounding, harmonics, power quality, and fault coordination.
  • •Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and electrical calculation tools.
  • •Experience working with electrical infrastructure for Tier II–IV data centers.
  • •Familiarity with IEEE, NFPA 70 (NEC), ASHRAE, and Uptime Institute standards. Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to lead technical discussions.
