Job Summary

Develop plumbing and fire protection engineering designs for healthcare, laboratory, and higher-education projects in renovations and new builds. Collect and analyze site, blueprint, and technical drawing data; perform engineering work including research, inspections, load calculations, and modeling. Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure permit-ready documentation, compliance with codes and standards, and quality control for measurements, calculations, and technical reports.

Key Responsibilities

•Collect, compile, and analyze site and design data (surveys, blueprints, schematics, technical drawings) for project development, design, and construction.
•Perform plumbing engineering work including research, inspections, and installation of plumbing and fire protection/suppression and fluid flow systems to meet codes and permit requirements.
•Contribute to advanced technology and modeling efforts, including concept development, design requirements, and load calculations for equipment and system performance.
•Collaborate on cross-functional project teams and help ensure work conforms to specifications, permit applications, schematics, compliance documentation, and technical analysis memos.
•Prepare technical reports, presentations, visualizations (tables, charts, sketches, calculations), and maintain quality control standards for accurate measurements and reporting.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s Degree in Plumbing or Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
•3 to 5 years of relevant post-education experience in plumbing and fire protection engineering design (ideally in healthcare, laboratory, and higher education spaces).
•Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification.
•Knowledge of plumbing and fire protection engineering principles, practices, and design/build processes as applied to project work.
•Experience with building and infrastructure planning, design, and construction management, including rehabilitation and new design.
