Key Responsibilities

  • •Carry out Medium Voltage and Low Voltage electrical design work to DNO standards.
  • •Provide feeder supply network solutions and produce intake and distribution substation layout designs (MV/LV).
  • •Perform primary plant and equipment design and produce secondary protection/control deliverables using equipment scheme, circuit, and wiring diagrams.
  • •Create cable sizing, routing, section, and termination drawings, and perform electrical system/earthing grid modelling and calculations.
  • •Produce interface designs for SCADA, auxiliary supply and COP metering; support equipment selection, procurement input, and design reviews.

Key Requirements

  • •A degree or relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering.
  • •Knowledge of British and DNO-specific design standards.
  • •A proven track record as a Trainee or Assistant Electrical Engineer, or completion of a Graduate Training programme in the Energy/Power sector within a design office and/or construction environment.
  • •Understanding of functional characteristics of power systems.
  • •Ability to write clear, concise documentation and work collaboratively with internal and external parties.
