Work as a Product Data Scientist embedded with product teams to support feature launches, study the economics of a large marketplace, and uncover insights that shape strategy. Build expertise in how Pro customers use Thumbtack and strengthen the team’s data culture through accessible data design and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

•Propose and conduct quantitative research on key user behaviors, product flows, and business trends to identify new opportunities for the product team.
•Design and analyze experiments and causal inference tests in collaboration with engineers, applied scientists, and economists.
•Partner with product managers and engineers to prioritize and scope new features, including scenario modeling and business-logic recommendations.
•Define and monitor key metrics, investigate changes, and propose next steps.
•Develop topic expertise on how Pro customers use Thumbtack and contribute to accessible data table design and maintenance.

Key Requirements

•4+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or economics.
•Experience scoping, analyzing, and communicating results of experiments.
•Expertise in SQL.
•Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships cross-functionally with leadership.
•Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in a technical area such as Statistics, Engineering, Analytics, Math, Computer Science, Operations Research, or Economics.
