Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead bridge inspections for NYSDOT and other agencies in accordance with NBIS and AASHTO Manual for Condition Evaluation of Bridges.
  • •Direct and mentor field team members to ensure quality and safety in the field.
  • •Enforce safe operations in field and ensure compliance with standards.
  • •Create and review inspection reports and ensure technical compliance with applicable standards.
  • •Provide guidance and training to entry-level engineers and stay current with structural engineering practices.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
  • •7+ years of experience in bridge inspection and/or design
  • •Professional Engineering Certification
  • •FHWA/NHI Training – (130055) Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges or (130053) Bridge Inspection Refresher Training (within past 5 years)
  • •Proficient knowledge of structural engineering principles, practices, and application to project work-related issues
