Lead manufacturing automation efforts across a large North America network by developing and executing a multi-year automation roadmap and defining technical scope for automation projects. Partner with site-level engineering teams to deliver practical solutions spanning receiving, material handling, coating/finishing, and shipping. Manage complex long-term engineering projects, mentor technical teams, and benchmark best practices with international regions, while traveling up to 25% as needed.

•Develop and execute a five-year strategic automation roadmap to identify long-term investment opportunities.
•Define the technical scope for MG-NA automation projects, including AGVs, robotics, and cobots.
•Lead and coordinate complex, long-term engineering projects from inception to completion within budget and schedule guidelines.
•Provide technical mentoring and coaching to site-level technical teams on automation solutions.
•Partner with international regions to benchmark and transfer best-in-class automation solutions, and act as prime technical contact on major contracts and projects.

Travel: Medium travel

Salary: USD 100,725 - 150,416 annually

Key Requirements

•Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related scientific field.
•Minimum 6+ years of engineering, research, or scientific experience with a Bachelor’s degree (or 4+ years with a Master’s degree).
•Strong background in industrial electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems; complete difficult technical assignments without immediate supervision.
•Proficiency in AutoCAD to develop and update complex drawings (P&IDs, PFDs), and experience with MS Project or Smartsheet for project tracking.
•Working knowledge of Six Sigma and ELS (Avery Dennison’s Enterprise Lean Sigma) principles preferred.
