Job Summary

Senior analytics/data engineering lead responsible for Obsidian's data warehouse and analytics foundation. Own the dbt project, warehouse architecture, and semantic layer; design dimensional models for dashboards and AI agents; implement CI/CD for dbt; manage data ingestion and reverse-ETL; migrate reports to BigQuery while enabling AI-augmented analytics and scalable data practices.

Key Responsibilities

•Own the analytics foundation: build and own the dbt project end-to-end, mart architecture, modeling conventions, materialization patterns, testing, lineage, and documentation.
•Design dimensional models that serve both human dashboards and downstream AI agents with rigor, and stand up CI/CD discipline for the dbt project including PR reviews, automated testing, and deployment workflows.
•Build the pipelines and the warehouse: own Fivetran ingestion across GTM, finance, HR, and operational sources; design reverse-ETL pipelines; migrate reports from legacy database to the new BigQuery foundation without breaking continuity.
•Use AI to ship more, faster: build with AI coding tools for daily workflow, design schemas and semantic conventions for AI agents, and create automated workflows on top of the warehouse (cost aggregation, executive reporting, CRM updates).
•Raise the bar across the team: set technical standards for the data function and mentor teammates to scale practices beyond the individual.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 219,000 - 240,000 annually

Key Requirements

•8+ years building analytics or data engineering systems in production with deep, hands-on dbt experience
•Strong business fluency in B2B SaaS and understanding of GTM, billing, and customer lifecycle workflows
•Ability to translate finance/RevOps questions into data models and workflows
•Expert SQL and dimensional modeling with opinions on incremental materialization
•Production experience with a cloud data warehouse (BigQuery preferred) and a managed ELT platform (Fivetran preferred)
