Key Responsibilities

  • •Determine which documents people actually use and which have lost trust within the first 90 days.
  • •Map existing documentation against program contract deliverables and required outputs.
  • •Reduce engineer time spent answering the same question twice by making procedures findable and current.
  • •Carry documentation deliverables through federal review with correct handling and marking requirements to avoid rework cycles.
  • •Maintain a documentation practice that stays current as systems change, using templates and standards so quality does not depend on the original author.

  • •Document technical systems you are not initially expert in, and describe how you ramped up to produce accurate documentation.

  • •Build documentation standards that outlast your involvement and get busy engineers to contribute without formal authority.
  • •Use Markdown and collaborate fluently with tools like Confluence and SharePoint in a standard document toolchain.
  • •Hold an active CBP BI (CBP Background Investigation), a DHS DHS fitness determination (at another DHS component), or an active DoD clearance (or be able to begin processing a CBP BI).
