Key Responsibilities

  • •Administer and monitor underwriting rules/guidelines, insurance laws and regulations, and rating annual rules.
  • •Handle complex new and renewal Builders Risk and Fixed Property/Inland Marine accounts and provide guidance as needed to lower-level associates.
  • •Build and maintain relationships with agents and brokers to support retention and acquisition; provide underwriting support and help point for customers and distributors.
  • •Proactively seek renewal and new account opportunities, complete opportunity assessments, qualify accounts to meet appetite, and manage target accounts ahead of effective dates.
  • •Calculate target price using underwriting tools, measure exposures/analyze risk, negotiate terms/conditions to close deals, and service accounts including declinations/cancellations.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 60,000 - 125,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma (or equivalent) and 1+ years of underwriting or market-facing experience (or 2+ years in claims/underwriting support), depending on level.
  • •Knowledge of line(s) of business plus legal and regulatory guidelines, and quote time restraints for new/renewal business.
  • •Underwriting Specialist level requires 3+ years underwriting/market-facing experience or 6+ years claims/underwriting support (or related experience in banking/mortgage/finance/construction).
  • •Experience with Microsoft Office.
  • •Preferred: Bachelor’s degree and construction property insurance lines experience, plus strong verbal and written communication skills.
