Job Summary

Provide and coordinate patient care in the OT/OR setting by assessing patients’ needs, planning and monitoring care, and escalating abnormalities. Work with physicians and allied health professionals to deliver treatments, administer medications, perform essential life support, and manage wounds. Educate patients and families, maintain clinical competency, and document care accurately using the electronic medical record platform where required.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide and coordinate patient care, educating patients and the public about health conditions and offering advice and emotional support to patients and families.
•Assess, re-assess, and collect pertinent patient data; analyze information and determine nursing diagnoses, problems, and issues.
•Create and evaluate patient care plans with the interprofessional team and collaboratively with patients and their bystanders.
•Record vital signs, recognize and escalate abnormalities; administer medications and treatments, including IV fluids or blood products, and monitor for side effects.
•Perform essential life support and support patient admission, transfer, and discharge; provide wound care and assist with invasive or non-invasive procedures as needed.

Key Requirements

•Hold an appropriate license to work as a registered nurse in the relevant regulatory health authority.
•Manage your own professional re-licensure.
•Hold a valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider card.
•Communicate clearly and effectively in English (spoken and written).
•Be willing to work across departments when necessary.
