Job Summary

Design and develop electro-mechanical systems and motor controls for power tools, working within a cross-functional Power Tools Engineering team. Own product requirements and “Critical to Quality” attributes, release specifications and costed BOMs, and partner with suppliers and contract manufacturers. Perform structural/thermal/airflow analyses and validation testing, drive DFMEA/PFMEA and tolerance stack-ups, and support continuous improvement to improve manufacturability, reliability, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

•Design and develop electro-mechanical systems and motor controls using 3D modeling and detailed drawings, managing BOMs and documentation in PLM systems.
•Collaborate with cross-functional partners to define product requirements and “Critical to Quality” attributes for robust product development.
•Release product specifications, RFQ packets, and costed BOMs; partner with suppliers and contract manufacturers for cost, quality, and on-time delivery.
•Perform engineering analyses (structural, thermal, airflow, FEA), design validation, and testing to optimize performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
•Conduct tolerance stack-ups, DFMEA/PFMEA, process control plans, and release engineering changes; support root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
