Job Summary

Design, develop, and execute static and dynamic environmental tests for Starshield satellite systems. Own test articles, fixtures, boundary conditions, and CONOPS, and lead bring-up, commissioning, and continuous improvement of test assets such as TVAC chambers, vibration shakers, structural test stands, and hydraulic systems. Partner with engineering teams to define requirements, run end-to-end test campaigns, troubleshoot DAQ/control systems, automate test operations, and train technicians. Onsite in Hawthorne, CA.

Key Responsibilities

•Design, develop, and execute static and dynamic environmental tests (thermal, vibration, shock, etc.) for satellite systems, components, and mechanisms.
•Lead bring-up, commissioning, modification, and continuous improvement of test assets including TVAC chambers, vibration shakers, structural test stands, and hydraulic systems.
•Partner with mechanical, electrical, thermal, launch, and integration engineers to define requirements and deliver customized testing solutions.
•Own multiple end-to-end test campaigns, including test plan creation, system activation, operations, data review, and test stand design/fabrication.
•Design, build, modify, and troubleshoot DAQ and control systems, wiring, and instrumentation; automate repetitive test operations and develop process improvements.

•Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering
•1+ years of experience involving mechanical structures work, such as designing/building mechanical structures or conducting academic research

•Preferred: Basic programming skills (Python, JavaScript, HTML/CSS) and experience with environmental test campaigns and GD&T
