Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide and coordinate patient care, educating patients and the public about health conditions and offering advice and emotional support to patients and their families.
  • •Assess and identify patient needs; implement and monitor the patient’s medical plan and treatment with a team of physicians and other specialists.
  • •Perform patient assessments and re-assessments, understand/analyse assessment information, and determine nursing diagnoses, problems, and issues.
  • •Create, evaluate, and update patient care plans in collaboration with the interprofessional team, patient, and bystanders.
  • •Record vital signs, recognize/address/escalate abnormalities, administer medications/treatments and monitor reactions, and provide wound care and essential life support within scope/regulatory requirements.

Key Requirements

  • •Have an appropriate license to work as a registered nurse in the relevant regulatory health authority, with the qualifications and experience required by that authority.
  • •Perform systematic patient assessment and reassessment and collect pertinent patient data.
  • •Understand and apply nursing diagnoses, predicted/expected outcomes, and nursing care planning.
  • •Hold a valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support Provider card.
  • •Be willing to work across departments when necessary.
