Key Responsibilities

  • •Support the management and control of water safety risks across the hospital estate.
  • •Carry out and oversee planned preventative maintenance, inspections, and statutory compliance for domestic hot and cold-water systems.
  • •Apply HTM 04-01 and ACoP L8 requirements and maintain compliance records, risk assessments, schematics, and maintenance documentation.
  • •Monitor water quality performance, including Legionella, Pseudomonas, and TVC results, and coordinate appropriate actions.
  • •Work with specialist contractors, engineering colleagues, and the Water Safety Group to support safe and effective water management.

Key Requirements

  • •Significant practical experience working with domestic water systems in a healthcare, public sector, or similarly regulated environment.
  • •Strong knowledge of HTM 04-01 and ACoP L8 requirements in a healthcare environment.
  • •Experience managing risks associated with Legionella and Pseudomonas, including monitoring, sampling, and remedial activities.
  • •Knowledge of water sampling and monitoring, including temperature control, flushing, and disinfection.
  • •A relevant City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent qualification in plumbing, water hygiene, or a related discipline.
