Job Summary

Lead a dual federal and political affairs role that advances Vistra’s legislative agenda in Washington, DC while managing and administering political action committees on behalf of Vistra Energy and its operating companies. Execute the federal agenda with the company’s lobby team, build relationships with Congress and congressional staff, and recruit, train, and lead PAC steering committee leadership. Oversee PAC compliance, budgeting, fundraising, candidate outreach, voter and election activities, and related events.

Key Responsibilities

•Execute the federal agenda and advocate Vistra’s legislative policies in conjunction with the company’s lobby team in Washington, DC.
•Maintain relationships with the U.S. Congress, congressional staff, and in-state district congressional offices to advance Vistra’s political relationships.
•Recruit, train, and lead PAC steering committee leadership and create/mobilize employee grassroots programs supporting public affairs objectives.
•Direct fundraising strategies, candidate outreach, and voter and election activities while reinforcing Vistra values through employee participation.
•Manage PAC compliance, budgeting, reporting, event management, and PAC websites/administrative systems; oversee three political action committees.

Travel: Medium travel

Key Requirements

•10 years of government and/or political affairs experience, including legislative staff work, serving as an officeholder, government relations management, or public policy.
•Experience in managing government relations and/or public policy activities, potentially gained through relevant college degree programs and/or certifications.
•Strong relationship management with the U.S. Congress, congressional staff, and in-state district congressional offices.
•Excellent written and oral communications skills.
•Fundraising and community relations experience (plus).
