Key Responsibilities

  • •Set up and operate fabricating machines (shears, brakes, bending rolls, punch and drill presses) to cut, bend, and straighten sheet metal.
  • •Shape metal using hammers and hand tools, and set up and operate soldering and welding equipment to join parts and assemblies.
  • •Smooth seams, joints, and rough surfaces using files and portable grinders or buffers.
  • •Install sheet metal assemblies and components per blueprints and written instructions; inspect work for conformance using measuring instruments.
  • •Provide guidance and work leadership to less-experienced mechanics and helpers, and assist in planning work sequences.

Key Requirements
