Job Summary

Mid-level Transmission Line Design Engineer in the Underground Transmission Line group, based in Foxborough, MA, to support design of underground transmission lines, substations, and related systems. You will assist with research, design development, calculations, and reporting across utilities, transportation, and government projects, delivering safe, compliant solutions and contributing to project teams.

Key Responsibilities

•Review third-party design documents, procurement lists, and project plans.
•Incorporate future-ready techniques, including equipment sizing, cabling, AC/DC panel design, and conduit/trenching design to ensure safety and functionality.
•Support senior engineers with research and recommendations of components identified in design requirements and field equipment applications.
•Verify site characteristics and provide technical assistance on engineering, design, testing, maintenance, modifications, and construction procedures.
•Develop electrical calculations for loads, equipment sizing, feeder sizing, voltage drop, grounding, lighting circuits and controls, facility/service, and power distribution.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
•3 to 5 years of relevant post-education experience in designing power transmission and distribution systems in utility or industrial/commercial environments.
•Engineer in Training Certification.
•Strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills.
•Experience with infrastructure planning, design, and construction management, including rehabilitation and new design.
