Key Responsibilities

  • •Optimize algorithm modules for local services search, including query analysis, relevance, recall, and coarse/fine/blended ranking.
  • •Improve TikTok core and vertical search quality by contributing to pipeline components such as query understanding, content understanding, and ranking.
  • •Develop and iterate search ranking algorithms using machine learning, AI, and NLP/CV techniques (e.g., features, models, evaluation, offline/online analysis).
  • •Support e-commerce search recommendation services by working on traffic analysis, candidate generation/ranking improvements, and experimentation.
  • •Collaborate with product and infrastructure teams to deliver well-scoped tasks, experiments, or tooling under mentorship.

Key Requirements

  • •Currently pursuing an Undergraduate or Master's in Software Development, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • •Proficient in at least one of C++/Python/Java, with a solid foundation in algorithms and data structures.
  • •Solid understanding of machine learning fundamentals; hands-on experience through coursework, lab projects, or internships is a plus.
  • •Strong analytical, modeling, and problem-solving skills, with ability to derive insights from complex data with guidance.
  • •Experience in domains such as advertising, search engine, recommendation systems, or NLP/CV; project experience in e-commerce/search/recommendation/advertising is preferred.
