Location: San Jose
Workplace: Hybrid
Employment Type: Full time
Job Function: Product Management
Seniority: Mid level

Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead design and implementation of production-quality Rust components for low-level, performance-sensitive GPU systems.
  • •Drive Rust adoption across GPU stack areas including toolchain integration, libraries, coding standards, diagnostics, testing, and deployment practices.
  • •Design and implement compiler pipelines covering rustc/MIR, MLIR dialects and transformations, LLVM IR, and AMDGPU code generation.
  • •Build analyses, transformations, legalization passes, and target-specific lowering for GPU execution models, memory spaces, synchronization, and hardware operations.
  • •Define typed/auditable interfaces across compiler, host runtime, device code, firmware, and hardware boundaries; validate ABI/calling conventions and binary behavior.

Key Requirements

  • •Strong production Rust experience, including ownership/borrowing, lifetimes, traits/generics, error handling, concurrency, and FFI.
  • •Experience designing and implementing compiler pipelines and intermediate representations, including rustc internals, MIR, MLIR dialects/transformations, and LLVM IR.
  • •Knowledge of compiler correctness issues (e.g., undefined behavior, aliasing, provenance, layout, calling conventions, memory models) and semantic preservation across source-to-binary.
  • •Ability to work across low-level and performance-sensitive GPU systems, including GPU execution models and target-specific code generation/lowering.
  • •Understanding of ABI definition/validation and linker/loader behavior, including ELF and code-object metadata, plus strong testing/validation instincts (fuzzing, property-based, differential testing).
