Job Summary

Operate heavy construction equipment safely and efficiently, including loaders, backhoes, track hoes, and haul trucks. Maintain safe excavation slopes and proper barricading, and locate utilities/buried lines before digging. Perform minor servicing and maintenance or escalate major issues, keep time-and-materials records, and use knowledge of aggregate sizes/classifications and load weight requirements. Travel between job sites as needed across area roads.

Key Responsibilities

•Operate construction equipment safely and efficiently (loaders, backhoes, track hoes, haul trucks, etc.).
•Ensure safe slopes on excavations and maintain proper barricading.
•Locate utilities and other buried lines prior to digging.
•Perform minor servicing/maintenance or refer major problems to the supervisor.
•Keep time and material records and support work with knowledge of aggregate classifications and load weight requirements.

Key Requirements

•Previous heavy equipment operation experience or training is highly preferred.
•Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondence.
•Ability to perform basic math (add, subtract, multiply, divide) using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
•Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
•Valid Driver’s License is preferred.
