Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide tailings services on projects in the mining industry and basic technical advice on tailings and geotechnical issues.
  • •Start developing internal client relationships and contribute to data collection and processing.
  • •Manage, analyse and tailings reporting for projects; include design and inspection of mine waste storage facilities and analysis of tailings properties.
  • •Contribute to project management and technical expertise; participate in professional development activities.
  • •Support business objectives within the Mine Waste team and promote collaboration and best practices.

Key Requirements

  • •Relevant degree (BEng or BSc) in Civil Engineering with 3-4 years’ post-graduation experience in tailings and geotechnical engineering.
  • •Honors degree (BEng or BSc) in Geotechnical field would be an advantage; candidate registration at ECSA preferred.
  • •Legislation related to engineering design supporting water use and waste management license applications; financial knowledge (WIP, AR, DSOs).
  • •Proven ability to lead integrated mine waste projects with sound project management skills.
  • •Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel (Advanced), MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, MS Projects; proficiency in slope stability, seepage analysis and FEM software (Geostudio and Slide); other software beneficial; own vehicle and Driver’s license; passport.
