Key Responsibilities

  • •Prepare foundation, steel structure, and concrete structure design calculations in compliance with industry and client standards.
  • •Perform structural analysis and design, including loads calculation, structural member selection, and structural connection development.
  • •Develop civil/structural drawings, specifications, and design calculations, including redlines for CAD designers and review of updated submittals for accuracy.
  • •Coordinate with other engineering disciplines (piping, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation) and establish effective working relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, and the project team.
  • •Verify field conditions and constructability, support resolution of issues during field construction, and provide progress/status updates (including risks/concerns) to AU lead engineers or project managers.

Key Requirements

  • •13-16 years of structures engineering/design experience in a consulting firm in an EPCM environment (O&G, power, chemical process plant, or mining processing industry is an asset).
  • •Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, with a preferred master’s degree in civil/structures engineering.
  • •Strong technical capability in structural design, including shallow/deep foundations, concrete piles, underground vaults/tunnels, slab reinforcement, and steel structure design.
  • •Experience interpreting and applying Australian Standards (AS) and domestic/foreign structural building design codes.
  • •Proficiency using structural design software (e.g., Space Gass, STAAD Pro, SACS, Tekla, E3D, S3D) and comfort with MS Office suite and Navisworks.
