Job Summary

Scale and qualify new photovoltaic manufacturing technology into high-volume production by working with Development Engineering, Integrated Supply-Chain, EHS, and Quality & Reliability teams. Provide technical leadership across PV manufacturing processes, defining equipment and process requirements, refining vendor proposals, and qualifying new tools through ramp to 24x7 operations. Troubleshoot equipment and processes to improve safety, throughput, yield, and performance using structured problem-solving and statistical methods, while datamining and visualizing results to enable process control.

Key Responsibilities

•Work cross-functionally to scale and qualify new technology into high-volume manufacturing.
•Provide technical leadership across photovoltaic manufacturing processes, including design and development of processes, equipment, and systems.
•Define equipment and process requirements, refine vendor proposals, and lead qualification of new process equipment through development and ramp to 24x7 manufacturing.
•Troubleshoot equipment and processes to improve safety, throughput, yield, and performance benchmarks.
•Use structured problem-solving and statistical methods to identify, test, and implement continuous improvements; datamine and visualize data for process control.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 84,200 - 120,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Associate’s degree in an engineering discipline (or similar technical discipline) plus 12 years of relevant technical experience, or relevant First Solar experience in specified roles.
•Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (or similar technical discipline) plus 10 years of relevant technical experience, or relevant First Solar experience in specified roles.
•Master’s degree in an engineering discipline (or similar technical discipline) plus 8 years of relevant technical experience, or relevant First Solar experience in specified roles.
•Prior experience in semiconductor or PV R&D/manufacturing in areas such as thin-film deposition, thermal processing, wet coatings, automation, laser processing, or process/device integration.
•Hands-on troubleshooting and specification/qualification of manufacturing equipment, using methods such as robust engineering, DOE, and design for manufacturability.
