Job Summary

Build and continuously improve a detection engineering program for a high-volume, RBI and PCI-DSS-regulated fintech SOC. Own detection rules and correlation logic across SIEM/EDR, reduce alert fatigue via tuning and enrichment, and lead response for high-severity incidents. Create SOAR automation playbooks, establish SOPs and investigation workflows, and drive SOC KPI improvements (MTTD, MTTR, false positives) through metrics ownership, mentoring, and simulation exercises.

Key Responsibilities

•Architect, develop, implement, and continually tune detection rules and correlation logic across SIEM and EDR to identify and remediate threats.
•Map detection gaps to MITRE ATT&CK and use threat intelligence to focus on cloud, containerized, and payment systems.
•Lead high-severity incident response: containment, eradication, recovery, and thorough log analysis, forensics triage, and timeline reconstruction.
•Design and maintain SOAR automation playbooks and scripting-based tools to streamline triage and incident workflows.
•Own SOC KPIs (MTTD, MTTR, false positive rate), mentor team members, and run simulation exercises to validate SOC readiness and playbooks.

Key Requirements

•1.5+ years of hands-on experience in a dedicated Security Operations Center (SOC), incident response, or detection engineering role.
•Expert-level proficiency in SIEM platforms (Splunk, Elastic, Sentinel) including advanced rule creation, custom parsing, and dashboard development.
•Strong scripting skills in Python for security automation and data manipulation.
•Excellent understanding of TCP/IP, common network protocols, and security appliances (Firewalls, IDS/IPS, Proxies).
•Ability to independently prioritize and drive complex projects; strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills for technical and executive audiences.
