Job Summary

Lead stakeholder engagement, consultation, and communications for major infrastructure and development projects across Scotland. Develop communications strategies, project narratives, key messages, and collateral for diverse audiences, and manage communications channels. Own stakeholder mapping and engagement plans, support consultation delivery (including surveys and feedback analysis), and plan events with strong attention to attendee safety and wellbeing. Drive client relationships, contribute to business development via proposals/tenders, and manage projects and junior colleagues with line management responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop communications strategies and delivery plans, including project narratives, key messages, and collateral for multiple audiences (digital users, media, communities, statutory bodies, technical groups, and elected representatives).
•Identify and map key stakeholders, establish engagement strategies and delivery plans, and support consultation delivery (surveys, feedback channels, and analysis).
•Plan and deliver events (physical and virtual), ensuring safety and wellbeing, delivering logistics, creating tailored materials, developing Q&As, and briefing colleagues.
•Liaise with internal and external clients to ensure high customer service and accurate, timely reporting.
•Build stakeholder engagement and communications services in Scotland through proactive opportunity identification, pitching, building connections within AECOM, and developing proposals/tender responses; manage projects, teams, and budgets.

Travel: Low travel

Key Requirements

•Extensive experience delivering communications, engagement, and consultation across projects of varying scale, ideally including major infrastructure schemes.
•Proven track record of business development: spotting opportunities, nurturing relationships, and turning them into viable ventures.
•Experience managing teams of different sizes/complexity and supporting junior colleagues’ career development, including line management responsibilities.
•Strong experience in relevant sectors such as infrastructure, energy, water, transport, and residential/commercial development, with confidence engaging varied audiences and stakeholder groups.
•Hold a degree in a relevant subject (or an equivalent number of years of successful, relevant experience).
