Key Responsibilities

  • •Translate Motive’s AI-driven development direction into an executable multi-year plan for agentic planning, generation, testing, review, and human-in-the-loop governance.
  • •Build and govern cloud-based agentic development infrastructure, including ephemeral isolated environments, concurrency and safety controls, orchestration/control plane, observability, and unit economics.
  • •Own developer experience end to end—inner loop, development environments, code search/navigation, IDE/agent tooling, dependency management, and onboarding time-to-first-PR.
  • •Lead developer infrastructure and engineering velocity improvements across build systems and CI/CD pipelines for Rails, Go, mobile, and embedded/firmware codebases.
  • •Run and scale testing and quality engineering frameworks, driving reliability, speed, and quality-left practices without slowing teams down.

Key Requirements

  • •12+ years in software engineering with 6+ years leading engineering teams, including 2+ years as a manager of managers.
  • •Strong DevOps and infrastructure depth across CI/CD, build systems, containers and Kubernetes, infrastructure as code (Terraform), and cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
  • •Demonstrated ownership of developer productivity, developer platform, or developer infrastructure at meaningful scale with measurable velocity outcomes.
  • •Hands-on experience with modern AI developer tooling and clear judgment on where agentic development helps versus fails.
  • •Experience operating cloud-based development/execution environments (remote dev, ephemeral workers, sandboxing, multi-tenant compute) with security and cost controls at scale.
