Key Responsibilities

  • •Conduct field research with Shield AI pilots, operators, and SMEs, using ethnographic methods, observation, and cognitive task analysis to gather data.
  • •Translate findings into updates for collaborative work requirement profiles used to drive design and experimentation.
  • •Support operational and readiness assessment exercises with fielded systems, including field testing under real tempo and after-action reviews.
  • •Provide embedded HMT support within major product lines aligned to Shield AI’s HMT strategy.
  • •Manage operator and SME engagement end to end, and produce mission threads, context-sensitive variants, trip reports, and briefings with recommendations.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 140,000 - 210,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •U.S. DoD Secret clearance eligible, with the ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret, SCI, and/or SAP-level access, and U.S. citizenship required.
  • •Operational background as aircrew, UAV operator, mission commander, or in intelligence or C2/battle management.
  • •Hands-on experience with human machine teaming (HMT), MUM-T, human-robot interaction, or applied AI for mission autonomy applications.
  • •Experience conducting field studies/operational assessments with human participants and reporting findings to engineering and operator/customer audiences.
  • •Experience with scenario design and modeling/simulation tools, including operational or training exercises in immersive simulation environments.
