Job Summary

Own key parts of the Supply & Demand platform end-to-end, from taking half-defined commodity blending rules through computation, validation, and production release on an Airflow pipeline. Debug and resolve incidents across pipelines, databases, and distribution APIs, improving data-quality gates and observability. Extend reusable S&D data models and shared ETL frameworks, build TypeScript-based distribution APIs, and mentor junior engineers while partnering with Product, Research, and Data.
Location: Athens
Workplace: Hybrid
Employment Type: Full time
Job Function: Software Engineering
Seniority: Mid level

Key Responsibilities

  • •Own commodity balance workflows end-to-end, including computation, validation, and reliable production releases on the Airflow pipeline (with on-call support).
  • •Resolve critical bugs and incidents across pipelines, databases, and distribution APIs, and turn incidents into runbook entries and prevention.
  • •Extend and harden a Prophet-based anomaly-detection/data-quality gate to catch bad numbers before publication.
  • •Generalize the S&D data model and shared ETL framework so adding commodities is an extension rather than a fork.
  • •Build and evolve data-distribution APIs (Oil and Grains TypeScript services), onboard and mentor junior engineers, and improve observability/monitoring across DAGs and services.

Key Requirements

  • •2+ years of experience as a software engineer delivering production systems.
  • •Own a non-trivial feature or service end-to-end in production (design, ship, monitor, and fix).
  • •Strong Python for data-heavy work (e.g., pandas/polars, SQLAlchemy or an equivalent ORM) with experience on relational databases and schema evolution.
  • •Comfortable debugging and operating production data pipelines, including on-call or first-responder duty.
  • •Strong ability to take a half-defined problem and shape it into a delivered solution independently.
