Key Responsibilities

  • •Safely perform machining works in the machine shop, maintenance workshop, and open pit field operations under the Heavy Welding and Field Maintenance Engineering section.
  • •Operate and set up basic machine tools, align and secure fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials.
  • •Measure, examine, and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications.
  • •Clean and lubricate machine shop machines, tools, and equipment to remove grease, rust, stains, and foreign matter.
  • •Carry out other duties as instructed by the supervisor.

Key Requirements

  • •Operate heavy-duty drilling and machining equipment (e.g., lathe, line boring, milling) and workshop tools safely and effectively.
  • •3+ years of experience in mining maintenance as a qualified artisan machinist.
  • •Hold a G12 certificate and a craft certificate as a machinist fitter and turner from a recognized Zambian institution.
  • •Possess a valid Zambian light vehicle driving license.
  • •Ability to measure and read engineering detail drawings and perform troubleshooting/fault-finding on mining equipment and fixed/mobile plants.
