Job Summary

Partner with engineering to bring silicon ingot and wafer fab R&D lines online for Starlink and Starship missions. Commission and troubleshoot silicon ingot pulling equipment, develop and refine crystal growth recipes and processes, and characterize ingots and wafers. Maintain calibrated lab equipment, uphold cleanroom and 5S standards, and ensure safe handling of hazardous chemicals while transferring stable processes to production teams.

Key Responsibilities

•Partner with engineering to bring online silicon ingot and wafer fab development lines.
•Drive equipment setup, calibration, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
•Prepare raw materials, seeds, and hot zone components for crystal growth.
•Execute DOEs and process trials to optimize seeding, recipes, thermal management, impurity control, and defect mitigation.
•Characterize silicon ingots and wafers, maintain and calibrate lab equipment, and transfer stable processes to production teams.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or equivalency certification.
•3+ years of hands-on experience in silicon crystal growth, semiconductor, or similar manufacturing.
•Experience handling flammable, toxic, corrosive, and/or hazardous chemicals safely.
•Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in a STEM field.
•Experience using and maintaining silicon ingot/wafer characterization techniques and equipment (e.g., ICP-MS, GDMS, XRT, SEM/TEM, FTIR).
