•Team Leadership: Own the day-to-day leadership of a team of 6–10 backend engineers — 1:1s, performance cycles, hiring, and onboarding with focus on each person's growth.
•Technical Depth: Stay close to the technical work; participate in design reviews and RFC feedback to raise engineering quality and sound architectural decisions.
•Delivery & Execution: Own team-level delivery — planning, prioritization, and removing blockers while balancing engineering quality with product velocity.
•Stakeholder Management: Partner with product, data, and business stakeholders to shape the team's roadmap and translate technical constraints into product tradeoffs.
•Engineering Standards & Hiring: Uphold coding standards, testing, observability; drive a culture of ownership; recruit and foster inclusive team culture.

•Technical Judgment: Deep background in distributed systems (JVM/Kotlin/Java). You can spot flawed architectural patterns and ask the right questions about consistency, idempotency, and scaling.
•Systems Thinking: Understand the lifecycle of a high-throughput Postgres/Kafka stack; know what good observability (SLOs/SLIs) and CI/CD look like.
•Project Management Savvy: Proficient in agile methodologies with a track record of delivering complex, cross-team projects on time without burning out your team.
